The past year was full of events for everyone. What can I tell you, I don’t think you have realized that we are in a global pandemic due to the damned coronavirus that is ravaging many people around the world.
This has changed many of our habits and many companies have realized the importance of having a presence in the online world.
If I were still at my old job (as far as it is already), I would surely be one of the thousands of people who entered ERTE, or who went straight to unemployment due to all the mobility restrictions we have been suffering with for almost a year.
Fortunately thanks to the same website and The purpose I had four years ago to be able to make a living from itIt wasn’t a bad year for me.
And that is what we will check in this article. As every year, here is a summary of the development of this project 🙂

Blog visits are no longer just on the rise. There were variations last year, and this year as well. Above all, it was noticed when the curfew arrived in Spain and when de-escalation arrived (that precious moment when we could leave the house after weeks of confinement).
For the first half of the year, I published a new post practically every week. That was the rhythm I wanted to follow all year, but as I said, I only fulfilled it in the first half.
In total, I published 26 new blog posts in 2020, just twice as many as in 2019, although far from what I suggested.
It’s not like I touched my nose, but I’ll talk about that later 🙂

Two things to comment on.
The first is that they were all confined at home when the detention began and visits increased, which decreased when it became possible to leave the home again and remained more or less stable for the rest of the year.
The second, the decline seen in the December chart, is due to cookie configuration (admittedly, I was one of the latecomers and did it at the last minute).
What do I mean? Now about the configuration that has to be done in order to comply with the Cookie Law, which means among other things that cookies are not loaded on the user’s computer until the user gives explicit consent.
As a result, since many people do not click the button to accept cookies, Google Analytics does not install cookies and therefore these visits are not recorded. But of course this does not mean that they do not exist.

If anything can be made clear, it’s that when things are going well and traffic is growing, it’s not good to trust, because what Google gives you, Google can always take.
The most important thing is to keep going, no matter what comes 😉
Web design for clients
As you already know, and if you don’t, I’m telling you now, my service as WordPress web designer It is my main source of income. I create websites for all types of clients and my main goal is to make them happy with the end result.
In the first half of the year, there was a jump in billing, it was noticed that some companies were in a hurry to work on the Internet and did not remain without billing during the first and worst months of the pandemic.
As the year progressed, the pace slowed down, but of course that doesn’t mean it was bad.
In general, there is an increase in budget requests compared to the previous year. But on the contrary, the sales url of my main service dropped a bit in Google search results.
To fix that, I have a specialist working on improving the positioning of this url so I am confident it will rise again during the year 🙂
I believe that SEO is one of the best investments in organic acquisition of new clients.
passive income
Despite the ups and downs in visits that occurred during 2020, the revenue that is affiliate marketing remained practically the same as the previous year (You can read last year’s summary here).
As I said last year, I am satisfied. And I will do that, if it stays like this this year 🙂

Other projects
As I mentioned earlier, apart from this website, I have created other websites to earn money from Amazon affiliate program thanks to AAWP plugin.
Although I have pretty much given them up at the moment, they have generated around 2600 euros in 2020, on top of the membership earnings of this blog.
I wish I had more time and will to devote to these websites, but they seem to be my big upcoming topic.
On the other hand, in the second half of the year I am working on another project related to training and web design. It’s in the final stages, so I hope to have it out in the next few weeks. In due course I will know more about what it is about 🙂
Conclusion
Well, another year has passed. A year that changed many people’s lives due to the pandemic and which I believe will change even more lives (mine remains more or less the same, working from home but not being able to go out and be more with family and see friends).
Overall, this was a good year in terms of business. For another year I can say that I live thanks to my website, which was exactly the purpose of its creation, for which I can undoubtedly be happy.
